From Theatrum Paracelsicum

Let us no longer hold in high esteem the order of Nature, let's disdain the means prescribed for a regulated life, if it is true that bodies subject to nourishment, can defy the laws to which they are destined. But let us adhere to the truth, let's live within the ordinance, whose proportion keeps us grounded here below: and to maintain our human substance, let's use meals with moderation.

It is illogical to consider rational, what against reason opposes reason itself, to wish to support what is not at all probable, comparing that which is null in comparison. Is it not in vain to speak frivolous thoughts when what always exists proves otherwise? To live without eating is to live on words, for every natural body requires some nourishment.

Now, brave champions, fight relentlessly, elevating your spirits towards perfection, you will soon be overwhelmed by power if you do not take in some sustenance.
