He discusses a small treatise he has decided to reprint due to its valuable content on extraordinary remedies and healing methods, particularly for podagra (gout). Forster notes that while the ancient author Ovid couldn't cure this ailment, the treatise offers hope through divine grace and wisdom. He offers this work to Platonus, who has suffered from the same illness, hoping it will be beneficial.
