| Paulus1994=366$Geboren 1558 in Nürnberg als Sohn des Paul Kröll. </br> Krell zählt zu den lateinunkundigen Laienalchemikern und war zeitweilig im Laboratorium des Kurfürsten und Kölner Erzbischofs Ernst von Bayern (1554-1612) beschäftigt. Da er keine Universitätsstudien absolviert hat, ist eine Tätigkeit als Leibarzt für Ernst wohl auszuschließen. </br> Krell ist Verfasser einer 1581 bis 1585 entstandenen Sammlung „Operationes chemico-spagyricae. Sampt allerley Handgriffen, Notelen undt Cautelen [...] bey Churfürsten Ernesto laborirt“, die in einer Abschrift von Benedictus Figulus erhalten ist. Krells bekanntestes Werk ist die „Visio chemica“ (auch: „Cabala chymica“), die in zahlreichen Handschriften und gedruckt überliefert ist. Ein weiterer Traktat Krells ist in einer Abschrift überliefert: „De Primo ente, daß ist von der Prima materia der metallen und Mineralien“. | |||
