| CP2=133-134$Gerhard Dorn (1530/35 - nach 1584): publizistisch tätiger Paracelsist (siehe Nr. 83: Biogramm). - Der vorliegende Text dokumentiert Toxites' persönliche Bekanntschaft mit D. und läßt darauf schließen, daß Toxites von D. 1569 in Straßburg aufgesucht worden ist. Diese Zusammenkunft kann kaum überraschen, denn D. hatte sich mit Toxites' Lehrer A. von Bodenstein 1567/68 in Basel persönlich bekanntgemacht, hier in Basel im Zusammenwirken mit Bodenstein und P. Perna seine literarische Tätigkeit im Dienste des Paracelsismus begonnen und sich an der Bodensteinschen Kontroverse mit J. Gohory beteiligt (Dorn, Retorsio, in: Paracelsus, Compendium, ed. Gohory, Basel 1568; vgl. Sudhoff, 1894, Nr. 99, bzw. ders., 1893/94, Nr. 3; Text: hier Nr. 83). - Die Vermutung, daß Toxites und D. bereits Ende 1559/Anfang 1560 in Tübingen Bekanntschaft schlossen (Kahn, 1994, S. 104; Soukup/Mayer, 1997, S.238), macht die vorliegende Mitteilung des Toxites hinfällig. </br> Im übrigen war D. wohl spätestens 1568, also schon vor der Zeit der Briefentstehung und -Übergabe ins nähere Blickfeld Kurfürst Friedrichs III. getreten, und zwar durch zwei Dedikationen, enthalten in folgendem Werk: Chymisticum artiflcium naturae, theoricum & practicum, o.
