From Theatrum Paracelsicum

Dear reader with a love for nature and art,

Just as the author himself laments in his preface about the many envious people in the world who seek to suppress arts and secrets out of envy, there are still many such envious individuals in our time who think they should be the sole possessors of all secrets, which is indeed a great sin.

To not resemble those individuals, we hereby present to you three rare chemical, spagyric, and medical manuscripts, which have been hidden for a long time until they were graciously shared with us by a good friend, namely:

I. Doctor Andreas Tentzel's, the highly famous physician's, Chemical-Spagyric Art of Medicine, or the Second Part of his writings.(a)[1] Truly, thoroughly, according to his own experience, thus so clearly and distinctly described and revealed, that even a beginner can easily find their way and without confusion safely and surely replicate everything. Translated from Latin into German, and annotated here and there by P.C.

II. Georgius Phaedron's, the highly famous physician and philosopher's, rare Chemical and Medical Arcana and Secrets; translated from Latin into German.(b)[2]

And finally, III. Henning Schevnemann's, Doctor of Philosophy and Medicine, Spagyric Secrets; which, to our knowledge, have never been printed before. We deemed it necessary to briefly inform about the current treatise. Furthermore, we have the following writings from Herr Andreas Tentzel:

I. Exegesis Chymiatrica. Available with Angelus Sala's Ternary of Bezordicorum, published in Erfurt, by Johann Birckner, 1628 & 1630. in 8.

II. Medicina Diastatica in the third treatise on Time, or Philosophy of Doctor Theophrastus Paracelsus. In Jena, by Johann Birckner, 1692. in 12. In Erfurt, by Johann Birckner, 1666. in 12.

III. Medical-Philosophical and Sympathetic Writings, consisting of his Medicina Diastatica, or the renewed working Art of Medicine, etc. in 8. Leipzig and Hof, published by Johann Sigmund Strauß, bookseller. 1725.

In conclusion, we leave the interested and curious reader to divine grace, and we commend ourselves to their love and favor. In our museum, in the year 1735, on the 8th of September.
