Printing History, Manuscripts. Not printed. One manuscript. Both titles, “Revelatio in somnio” (f. IIr, 8v) and “Revelatio per somnium” (f. IIIr) were added by a later hand in the Breslau manuscript.
Editions. Not edited by Huser or Sudhoff.
Relationship between different versions. Only one known version.
Structure, genre/form, perspective, style. In some parts the text directly addresses the reader. The order of the different sections is sometimes disturbed; the writer used symbols to indicate a different order.
Relationship to other texts. A text on earth spirits (pygmaei, sylphae) and treasures. The relationship to chapter 5 of the pseudo-Paracelsian De occulta philosophia (§ 5.7) and to the authentic De nymphis, sylphis, pygmaeis is unclear. – Not related to the Oraculum Oneiromanticum / Magisches Arcanum mit der Malerei zu erfahren was du willst durch den Schlaf (§ 5.19). – See also Von den Erdgeistern (§ 5.26).
Authenticity, authorship.
Time of writing. Further study required.
