Johann Casimir, Pfalzgraf bei Rhein (1543–1592): In mehreren Feldzügen profilierte sich J. C. als Führer der Reformierten und brachte als Vormund seines Neffen * Friedrich IV. die Pfalz zur reformierten Lehre zurück.
Crolls Bruder Johannes (1553 oder 1554 – vor 1630) wirkte fünf Jahre lang (ca. 1589 bis ca. 1594) als Pfarrer und Inspektor in Kaiserslautern (Menk, 1984, spez. S. 250 f.), das heißt, im näheren Umkreis J. C.s – Croll beklagt J. C.s Tod und nimmt dabei auch Bezug auf Trauergedichte des * J. Duchesne.
