Auch der französische Paracelsusübersetzer Cl. Dariot (ca. 1530/33-1594) erinnerte sich an alchemomedizinische Praktiken in Montpellier: »In my time, I [Dariot] have seen at Montpellier [zur Zeit der Ärzte Guillaume Rondelet, 1507-1566, Antoine Saporta, 1507-1573, und Jean Schyron, gest. 1556] medical doctors and scholars, who worked to separate the oily and more subtle substances from fragrant simples, from aromatics and diverse fruits, and these were replaced in use by the said Sieur Rondelet (the first of his time) and Saporte« (Dariot, De praeparatione medicamentorum, 1608 [Ί582], hier zit. nach der engl. Übersetzung von Debus, 1991, S. 41).
